I was a little worried because the jisho.org listing said that verb is irregular and I don't know where it's irregular yet, so it occurred to me as a possibility. Also because I made the mistake in my misspent youth of reading a textbook on historical linguistics and repeating sounds collapsing down seemed to be a thing.
