Updating from work because I forgot my phone, somehow. I don't know how that happens.
Things:
Whaddup with you guys?
Things:
- Seriously thinking about coding a DW/Tumblr crossover with non-rebloggable posts that can go in and out of threaded comments/chat, with activity (posts + comments) being the lifeblood of a stream. Like, seriously thinking about it. ? ??? ? I am just so frustrated with this no-inbetween-land and tumblr in general
- Going through Visions of Infinity. Maths writing, even when doing okayish, is... a bad read. Going to keep chugging. Might end up writing maths into yuletide this year (?!)
- Because
pendency, I now need to write drow fic. Like. Zak/Jarlaxle drowfic. Badwrong drowfic. It's like I'm 14 again, except equipped with more cynicism.
Whaddup with you guys?

- too much white space
- post format a lot like tumblr
- lacks proper comment threading
- lacks personal space
- feed format leaves things to be desired: over-large "congrats you've reached x users" posts, useless "this community is neighbours with that community" posts
- notification feed and emails are completely useless at the moment
+ FINALLY COMMUNITIES ARE A THING AGAIN
+ uses markdown, which I think is the middle ground twixt markup and rich text
+ multiple unlinked psueds is good
+ while I'm not a huge fan of a facebook-style feed, this is the first kinda combo that looks even vaguely fandom-friendly: real-time convos are becoming a vague possibility?
+ built-in messenger
+ built-in polling
Judgement is still out. If fandom uses it enough to get feedback listened to and if personal spaces show up and suck less, I think it has potential just out of the sheer frustration people are feeling at tumblr and old fogies like me wanting comms back?
A thought: there is one thing about tumblr that I like that platforms like these will miss, which is re-broadcasting, but I still have thoughts percolating on that.
Are you on any comms over there?
