Back
Back from a long trip home; sick as a dog but making good headway on some resolutions for the new year. Spending time each day sitting and using Headspace, which has - in fact - done wonders for my brain even though it's only ten minutes each day. Trying to go to the gym more and have already made 2 sessions since coming back in spite of sickness. Verrrrrrrry behind on written Japanese, but I watched an astonishing amount of Kinki Kids variety TV while back home, and was pleased to understand a lot of it - and a lot of Shouten and rakugo on the side.
If I owe people things, forgive - and remind! - me. Especially you people who wanted me to read Watchmaker of Filigree Street, which I now have, and to which I say aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaha. I wish I hadn't passed my copy of Bedlam Stacks to a friend, because I am a wee bit confused about Keita's timeline and I am wondering if that was either my misreading things or him intentionally obfuscating how he works. More on that later.

Is Headspace a meditation app thingy? How does it work?

I like it because it is extremely not woowoo and the session times can be configured - for longer ones all the way down to ten minutes and for short sessions as low as one. It makes building up a habit that is custom to you and your needs really easy and involves no buy in to any particular methodology. I highly recommend!
