Work is so busy! But productive, which is good. Been poking and maintaining the Yuletide app, but at least it's dragging me back into fandom! How is everyone? <3
Doing well! I am using FluentU (which I splurged on) to self-study Japanese--the combination of subtitles/actual Japanese text/audio and graded quizzes is really working well for me. And then doing Duolingo Welsh, where I am going to be studying the very confusing definite article and numbers (Welsh has mutations) foreeeeeeever. :)
At the level of baby-steps Duolingo, Welsh is not so bad, but I bet stuff gets harder rapidly. One of these days I'm going to save up for Gareth King's Modern Welsh so I have an actual reference, but it's $90 so that's probably not happening soon. (I mean, I have some spending money. It's mostly going toward art supplies right now, because I want to art hexarTarot. XD )
I should resume doing baby-steps Japanese blogging as accountability. I don't have much vocabulary yet but hey, it's better than nothing. =)
I want to get started on Yuletide but man. I NEED TO READ UP ON THINGS LIKE THE TAROT AND ALL THESE OTHER FANDOMS THAT I KNOW 0 ABOUT BUT END UP WANTING TO WRITE.
I think the Tarot Yuletide requests tend to either have additional write-ups about the cards (like shadow_lover's, I think? was it them asking for Night Sun Tarot this year?) or be "just write me something based on the pretty pictures if you like!" (me), haha.
But yeah, I hear you...I have a bunch of fandoms I want to get into if I have time for Treating. We'll see what my schedule allows!
I decided I didn't have enough demands on my time, so I've started studying Hebrew. Just practicing the alphabet right now. But I definitely did already have enough demands on my time, so... I'm a little frazzled.
On the bright side, I was able to leave a project at work that was really stressing me out, and now my schedule is much calmer and happier.
I think I'm going to see if I can grow flowers on a bookcase with a sun lamp to keep my room cheery over the winter.
