* Hello to any new folk! There've been a scant few additions to my circle, I think: drop by and say hi, one way or another!
* Back to work, alas, alas. Then again: all my boss and I did in the absolutely empty office was talk rubbish about hockey and do nothing, so that wasn't too bad. I feel utterly braindead from going in, though.
* Yuletide recs will have to wait until tomorrow or the weekend, methinks; I am a bit dead, though I've put some effort into exploring the wilds of the collection and commenting where I can. I wonder if I've hit any fics from y'all on the flist! Have I? I doubt it – I sense that, down a certain space opera and judging from the rouge appearance of people's names in kudos lists, that we don't quite share read/write fandoms as much these last few years.
* I am hastily, drunkenly nominating for Chocolate Box, but I am the world's worst exchange participant outside of Yuletide. Sorry, mods...

1. What is your favourite food?
2. What is your favourite food preparation method?
3. What is your favourite cuisine or style of cooking?
4. Do you have any dietary restrictions and if so what are they?
5. If you could introduce the whole world to one ingredient to improve their culinary experience, what would that be and why?

I'd love any and all discussion of question 3!

3. What is your favourite cuisine or style of cooking?
Oh man. I grew up in an household full of Chinese and weird fusion cooking, but I didn't start cooking myself for real until I came to the U.S. for university, so I'm all over the place. Some styles are more finnicky than others, but I love more or less everything?
I have things I love to eat way more than others; I miss home food a lot. But in terms of cooking - home food does not lend itself to a 9-5 workday person's cooking schedule up here, especially with ingredients being hard to get. I actually really like cooking Japanese, possibly because I did so much of it while living in Japan where groceries and such were so easy to acquire! So yes. Call it Japanese.

spork of fooding!
1. What is your favourite food?
For uncooked pure foodiness, Korean gyul (tangerines)! For something actually cooked, I am inordinately fond of the poké and pad Thai.
2. What is your favourite food preparation method?
In terms of what I actually use? Er, the microwave. Beyond that, sauteeing things. One of the simplest things I make is chopped tofu sauteed in hoisin sauce, maybe with chopped broccoli if we have it. Even Ara likes it! XD
3. What is your favourite cuisine or style of cooking?
Korean or Thai. :) But really, I love so many different cuisines.
4. Do you have any dietary restrictions and if so what are they?
I have mild lactose intolerance, so I have to watch dairy intake.
5. If you could introduce the whole world to one ingredient to improve their culinary experience, what would that be and why?
Fresh-ground black pepper, maybe? I don't know! Everyone has different tastes. XD
You?
Re: spork of fooding!
I'll pick one of the topics - sooo, favourite food! God I miss noodles. I miss noodles so much. "Noodles" isn't even the right word but it's the best English sort of has got - I miss the varieties of noodles, all billionty of them from home.
I TOO AM A HUGE POKE FAN, high five, gotta get those omega fishy goodness bits in. And pad thai, too. Haha!
Are Korean gyul different from the tangerines you can get in the U.S.? I mean, probably, but is there a good equivalent? /curious!
Re: spork of fooding!
I miss the variety of noodles I could get in Korea and during my one visit to Japan!
Korean gyul are, at their best, better than the best tangerines I've had in the USA, but USA tangerines have been getting pretty good, so I am no longer as sad about this as I used to be. *g8
