Low-Key Handmade Exchange: OFFERS

This is a small exchange for people who make things to make something for someone else.

The spirit of things: work down your existing stash of materials and/or get motivated to make something by doing something small and nice for someone. Whatever you offer to create shouldn't stress you out either financially or emotionally, but rather be a nice, low-key way for you to engage with your discipline of choice!

I leave what counts as "low-key" to your own personal good judgement. ;)

Offers

In a comment on this post, leave a list of at least 1 item that you are willing to create. This post closes on 31 January, 23:59 GMT+8.

As a general rule, each item should be different enough from each other that people might pick one but not the other – e.g. bracelet/ring, as opposed to small bracelet/big bracelet. Items can be from across as many disciplines as you wish, or separate items within a single discipline. If you can only work with a certain material that people might have allergies to (wool, nickel, adamantium, mythril...), please disambiguate your offer – wool beanie, for example.

Feel free to link pictures/sketches/examples of your offers for illustration purposes.

Participation is not restricted to people who know this journal.

All comments are screened, and I will not be compiling the final list until after the end of offers - feel free to edit as you like until then.

Example lists:
  • Knit adult beanie, knit travel mug zarf, knit handkerchief
  • Metal ring, knit trivet, 10-sheet paper notebook
  • Good: coin pouch, keychain. Woven friendship bracelet, chain maille bracelet.
  • Bad: black keychain, red keychain. Small keychain, slightly bigger keychain.

Please consider offers as a guarantee that you will complete your signup with a request later! Since if you are the only person offering a thing and it gets requested, someone will have to get a pinch-hit if they are matched on it but you end up backing out.

Requests, Matching, Deadline

Requests: 1 Feb - 5 Feb
Shipping Deadline: 29 Feb

Once the offering period is over, I will compile a list of requestable items in a new post. Participants can then sign up to request items from out of the list, with a minimum number of requests to be determined once we see how many folk have offered. Participants can also list how far they are willing to ship to, and allergies/do not wants at that time. Note the shortened requests period!

OR matching will commence at the end of the requests period, and you will be paired up with someone who has offered at least one of your requests. You will communicate independently via email with your matchups to determine final styling/colours/fun details and mailing addresses. I'll be around to help moderate if needed.

Shipping deadline will be 29 February. Participants who have not heard from their assigned giver at that time will get a pinch-hit.
