General Likes

  • Old friendships and relationships: people who were close but who then drifted or were driven apart, and how they come together again. The internal struggle of renegotiating new/old territory; unrequited/unresolved tension. Pining is great.
  • People who know each other very well, and who translate that knowledge into a variety of things - whether that's intimacy, sex, codependency, codeswitching or otherwise - that aren't easily read or understood by third parties. Ingroup/outgroup dynamics!
  • Service/loyalty/contractual obligations.
  • High-pressure situations - whether immediate or over a long time span - and how people respond to them.
  • Competence porn: people who have worked very hard to become highly proficient in their skillsets, whether that's being an assassin or meticulous scholarship.
  • Private versus public conflicts, and how a character balances the two. Winning one only to lose the other; difficult compromises.
  • Cross-class interactions; the bigger the divide, the better. Double points if it's not just a case of "I've got X and you've not", but rather how two people challenge each other across said divides.
  • Worldbuilding, especially economic, in-group, and political worldbuilding.

If you're interested in writing totally-optional porn:

  • Powerplays and mindfucking, whether in bed or out of it. Cavalier but not careless use of power.
  • Dom/sub dynamics, but not as a lifestyle (To whit - a commander/subordinate relationship with lots of sir-ing? Delicious. Slave or alpha/beta/omega AU where the setting encourages the dynamic? Yes, please! Bringing a BDSM master/slave relationship in a vanilla society out of the bedroom without a supporting non-bedroom context? Nah. :))
  • Age gaps, and gaps in general - of experience, of personal wealth, of language, of social class.
  • Breathplay, dirty talk, spanking/impact play, voyeurism/exhibitionism, clothing or uniform porn or mostly-dressed sex, restraints.

Art Thoughts:

  • Ghost in the Shell pose
  • Pose: someone sitting with someone standing behind them draped over their chair
  • Illuminated texts
  • Isometric pixel art?
  • Chillhop loop art
  • I really like monochromatic colour palates, black/gold/silver/white, the moon as a symbol, art deco, typography, and am extremely sorry I'm not very good at giving examples...

In general, you can consider me opted-in to any AU you can come up with, crossovers with any fandom I have requested or written before, darkfic &c. as long as my fandom-specific DNWs are respected. Recursive/remixes of my fic, or sequels/prequels if you've written for me before would also be incredible. Have fun!

DNWs

Again, I'm omnivorous! Hard DNWs are listed in my prompts per-fandom. I trust your best judgement!

Initial D

Takahashi Ryousuke, Takahashi Ryousuke & Fujiwara Bunta

I've been on some sort of wild Initial D kick after discovering the fandom, as one does, a thousand years late in the year of EVs 2025. I love Ryousuke in particular because while he's all Ego and I'm The Cool Guy, he also clearly, rabidly cares about more than just winning: he's interested in cars, in technique, in the aesthetics of racing (instead of brrrr just buy an R32 and profit) and in the unpredictability of the street. I love that considering how he's got this whole other buttoned up career waiting for him on the side, and how incongruous it is for some rich kid of hospital administrators in med school to be doing this kind of stuff. And scaring his punk younger brother in the process! It must take a lot to scare someone like Keisuke, after all...

Bunta is sort of the same in an inverse way for me: here you have this hyper-competent racer who clearly has worked obsessively both on his racing technique and his mechanical knowledge and he's... a single dad tofu seller. Bunta, at the end of the day, seems pretty well adjusted: he doesn't Crave To Race, after all, and besides his desires for Takumi (very, er, normal... non-child endangering desires, eh? ILU, BUNTA), keeps his nose pretty much out of it. Is he satisfied with that? Or is he satisfied because he wouldn't be happy giving it his all or being at the top of his game, kind of the same with how Ryousuke retires himself from actively racing?

Some other ideas outside of what I put in my signup:

  • I'm a huge competence porn fan. Ryousuke fanboying Bunta from afar by looking up or, gasp, interviewing people about Bunta's racing records because there was no internet back when Bunta was racing is delicious to me
  • How did Ryousuke get into racing in the first place? How did Bunta, and do they ever swap stories at some point somehow?
  • Takumi watching in horror as his racing dad meets his racing dad (hurhur) would be incredible... :D :D :D
  • Ryousuke decides he wants to send flowers to Fujiwara the Elder
  • Ryousuke driving the 86???
  • Ryousuke writing a medical report on Bunta. This could go somewhere really sad, or be funny - I leave it up to you!
  • Maybe they have to co-parent (???) Takumi after Takumi has a bad break. What does this look like?
  • Or maybe Takumi asks Ryousuke to go parent his parent. I think Ryousuke would figure out how to deal with crotchety old men pretttty quickly...

[Original prompt:]

Ryousuke: I like Takahashi Ryousuke's style and I will take anything about him in pretty much any flavour. Rich kid who is unafraid to use money and connections to improve his (and others') racing while also actively choosing to punch up instead of down? Check. Maniacally overworked? Check. Analytical brain thrown into a sea of intuitive savants? Double check! I love that this outwardly straight-laced human being has an enormous drive to perform, an ego almost to match, and the pride to not let his ego get in the way of adopting an absurd sleep schedule in pursuit of big bragging rights and even bigger-picture automotive excellence. MORE OF ALL OF THIS!!!!

Some ideas:

  • Fanmixes or fanvids: this being Initial D... I'd love to see your favourite Eurobeat hits and how they apply to Ryousuke. Or even non-Eurobeat!
  • Ryousuke vs other rich kids in any situation, especially? even? non-automotive related
  • What if he's the son of a tofu seller
  • Gymkhana days
  • Him + mechanics and/or inadvisable things you could do in a body shop (take that however you will. Maybe he's doing something unholy.)
  • How did he terrify Keisuke all those years ago with his driving?
  • What car(s) does doctor!him end up with and why?
  • What does he do to blow off steam when he can't drive?
  • Gunma > Tokyo?
  • What happens if he gets caught illegally street racing by a hot cop, insert hot cop of choice here (feel free to dig around my fandoms for crossover ideas?)
  • Mentorship kink
  • FC porn. On the car, about the car, in the car, literally the car?
  • POV switch of other street racers realising, to their horror, that this guy is turning them on. Bonus points for extra denial even if/in spite of being given [a thrashing during a race | a thrashing in bed | verbal commands that they can't stop thinking about] by Ryousuke

Gen or shipfic or details of his FC: I'm excited for it all. While I'm not a Ryousuke shipper, I do adore his relationship - as a rival or a mentor – with Takumi.

Ryousuke & Bunta: Just as I love Ryousuke being a mentor to Takumi, I love the idea that he could learn a thing or two from Bunta. I can't be the only one who thinks that it wouldn't be far from the realm of possibility that Mr. Researches Everything found out about Bunta's history long before any of our beloved, if somewhat smooth-brained, Akina boys did. Bunta, after all, was a legend in his day... Would Ryousuke ever have approached him? Or I'd even be interested in Ryousuke's POV just researching the man even if he and Bunta never really interact.

Alternatively, going some dark and horrible direction: what if there's an AU in which Takumi crashes during a Project D race, and crashes badly/dies? It feels like Ryousuke would pay Bunta a visit in that case. Or maybe it isn't The D's (hehurhur) fault and Takumi, somewhat later in life, crashes-and-burns out of his racing career and Bunta reverse-Unos Ryousuke and calls him up to come kick his son's sulking ass? (I don't know MF Ghost canon much at all, but feel free to use as much of it as you want as long as you're okay with me being pretty much clueless.)

Some other ideas:

  • Bunta and Ryousuke race. Somehow. Somewhy. Some... when?
  • Bunta goes to see what all the fuss is about one day at a Project D race/many years in the future?
  • Bunta's getting older. Ryousuke, entirely coincidentally, ends up as his doctor. Dun dun... dun?
  • What does Ryousuke think of Bunta's mechanical skills, if he observes from afar? Or vice-versa? The 86 is basically like a shared lovechild of theirs in some ways, with Bunta making modifications and Ryousuke then making them later...

No DNWs.

Crossover Fandom

Takahashi Ryousuke/Kim Kitsuragi, Takahashi Ryousuke/Ogata Seiji

I raved quite a bit in my signup prompt so suffice to say here that I adore AU/AR/fusions and would absolutely be delighted by the dropping of any one or more of these three into each others' universes. Disco Elysium is just an incredible world, and I would pay a lot to see Ryousuke and Ogata interact in it as themselves - i.e. street racer and Go/game player - if that floats your boat, for example.

Staying within the pairings themselves, for Ryousuke/Kim:

  • Car geekery! I love the idea that Ryousuke might be on the radio waves. Or maybe the Pale causes Kim to hear radio from another dimension, say, the dimension of Gunma-in-the-90s... Or even vice versa
  • Ryousuke plays Disco Elysium in the modern era and wakes up in the universe. Where is he, what does he do, and what does he think about ending up in a game?
  • Kim in the real world as a police officer rounding up racing delinquents only to get DRAWN INTO THE ILLEGAL RACES BY THIS charismatic intelligent young man.......

For Ryousuke/Ogata:

  • Ryousuke and Ogata bump into one another in Tokyo. Literally. Cars are slightly damaged. Tempers are high. What happens?
  • Ogata has a bad habit of picking up in the strangest places. Where does he pick Ryousuke up and how?
  • Maybe Ryousuke is really into Go and one thing leads to another?

[Original prompt:] All Ryousuke, all the time, in all the universes! Here I ramble about the joys of competence porn combinatorics that feature him. I really like competence porn, in case this grab-bag of pairings didn't make it obvious...

Competence porn!!! Kim is a police officer, Ogata is a Go player, and Ryousuke is... a doctor with an adrenalin problem? Maybe all of them have adrenalin problems! :D! I love characters who are great at what they do being in situations where that's made obvious, whether it's because they're putting their talents to good use or because other people who Know see and appreciate them. I also like class, experience, and age gaps, so feel free to play with the ages of either side of the pairing if you want! Honestly, I'm up for anything: if any one of these relationships pings you, I'll read anything you come up with.

Kim: oh my god the car bros being together appreciating each other/each other's cars, what more do we need in life? Nothing. Ryousuke racing Kim's car or vice versa or the two of them racing one another or the policeman nabbing the street racer who turns out to be a respectable member of society or anything, I want all of it so bad. Ryousuke finding and tweaking Kim's obsessiveness with games is also 10000% up my alley.

Ogata: I shamelessly will say I've written this pairing and will just as shamelessly say I'd love for other people to write it too :D (And... that remixes/etc are more than welcome if you want to go that way). Anyhow! I love the all-encompassing nerdery that Ryousuke engages in - computer models! getting so good he recognises engines by sound profiles! - and Go is one of those places where nerdiness is just a given, so why not smash two people with nice cars and nerdy professions together? I'd love to see Ryousuke swanning around cosmopolitan definitely-not-Gunma Tokyo and bumping into Ogata. Or maybe they meet at a track meet. Or maybe Ryousuke was sent to Go school once upon a time or something.

Potential words/themes/ideas that might cross apply to any of the pairings:

  • Crime, the definition of illegal activities, and policing
  • Everyone Is In Disco Elysium Now
  • Late nights are what policemen, obsessive Go players, and street racers all have in common. Maybe they all meet up at a diner or club.
  • All of these people have nice cars, just saying.
  • Kim recruiting Ryousuke? Or vice-versa, in the Disco Elysium universe?

Further crossover/AU/AR-ings with any of the fandoms I've ever written before are also welcome, if you want to really push the boat out! Happy for these requests to be very gen-like as well: I read "/" very liberally and as long as they're Heavily Interacting, I don't need on-screen romance or sexual intimacy.

Naruto

Auxiliary Cottage Industries in Ninja Society

I could write a truly unhealthy amount on pretty much any topic that could possibly be related to the auxiliary industries surrounding ninja society, so I will instead say: if you have something you're keenly interested in and want to wax lyrical about, I'd love to hear it. I'm particularly interested in Konoha, because I am a giant Kakashi and Minato and Tenzo fan and they are nothing if not rooted (ha... ha ha) in their village, but I'm not opposed to reading about something from the other ninja villages or about their world as a whole, either!

I also nominated this tag as cottage industries, but clearly have wandered off the deep end and have prompted about industries in general. But if you want to focus on true cottage/smaller industries, GOSH I have so many that I'd love to hear about. Food carts! Food preparation in a paranoid world where poisons are such a thing and the amount of social engineering and cachet one has to have with their patrons!!! Animal trainers! Special fabric weavers! Gardeners who grow, in very small batches, some very particular plants that some ninja need as components - and maybe what they grow look like weeds because the ninja don't want anyone to know they use, idk, milkweed or dandelion roots as a major component in their famous whatchamacallits!

I think pretty much any nominated medium would be wildly interesting for this prompt, and would love it if you want to explore that realm!

  • Choose-your-own-adventures (maybe you're said gardener having to go on a quest for special seeds?)
  • Original music: does music play a role in certain ninjutsu? Do musicians get hired to compose certain things, or as part as an orchestra/performing group? Or is music used to do things like calm a crowd or magical energy?
  • Book covers: THERE HAVE TO BE SO MANY BOOKS WRITTEN ON SO MANY TOPICS. Do these get sold commercially? Are there Secret Tomes for (insert topic here)?
  • Character possessions: what is in someone's pockets who is in one of these industries?
  • Costume design: if you're working in a specialised field like, idk, ninja weaponsmithing, what does what you wear to work look like, and how would it be different from our world?
  • Bestiaries! Perhaps certain types of animals are bred for specialised purposes?
  • Notebooks/sketches/journals/articles/medical reports: yesssss, yes please.
  • Maps! A meta-level map of Konoha/whatever region you invent that shows where different industries are or how cottage industry X is located near to patron ninjas Y would be so cool

[Original prompt:] Ninja society cannot possibly exist without an entire galaxy of ancillary industries and I AM HERE TO READ ALL ABOUT IT. Even the richest clans are going to need things they cannot provide for themselves: raw materials! Trades- and craftsmen! Paper makers, seal carvers, grocers, road builders, apothecaries! Where are the miners, the steelworkers, the archivists, the urban planners? ??? ?

There are so many mediums that this request could apply to that I really, genuinely would love anything you can come up with. I've opted into the "Any" tags - any medium, any length - and mean it.

Some ideas, though I'd love any insight into some niche cottage industry that floats your boat!

APOTHECARIES AND GARDENERS: I love gardening. I love horticulture. I love the history of binomial classification, of poisoners' handbooks, of kitchen gardens and physic gardens and everything in between. While I'm sure some poisons are Clan/ANBU/Village Secrets (™), there are SO MANY THINGS between "plant/raw element out in the world" and "finished product of any variety" – who grows the fields upon fields of poppies | nightshade | real food. Armies march on their stomachs, don't they? I WANT IT ALL, whether it's run-of-the-mill agrarian practices (does Konoha double-crop? triple-crop? Are there special methods of pest control???) or super-specialised ninja-y goodness (are there special poison creation techniques? Or classification systems for poisons? WHO TESTS THESE THINGS ANYWAY, besides their enemies? Are there chemists? Alchemists? Something in between?) or something aesthetic (who creates dyes for the various clans? Who creates the fabrics???). Or more meta-level things, like what in-world horticultural practices are, how their classification/naming systems work, or what the most common methods for seed collection or overwintering crops or whatever is.

MATERIAL EXTRACTION AND MATERIAL SCIENCES. Shuriken don't magically make themselves, right? Where does the iron come from? Are there import/export complications that compete with security concerns? Is there One Great Swordsmith somewhere up in a mountain? How do people test for things like tensile strength? Where are Konoha's quarries, rivers, dams, reservoirs??? ?? ? Over the generations, have some raw materials become scarce? Or has the discovery of new raw materials in recent years transformed some villages in specific ways? SO MANY QUESTIONS.

ARCHIVAL PRODUCTS. Tell me about the paper used by ninja and the paper makers!!! The seal carvers!!! The ink producers!!!!!! The print makers! People have to write stuff down or it doesn't exist, right?! Does ANBU have special supplies? Does the Hokage get the Really Good Stuff? Are the bookbinders who are good with needles civilians or ninja or both? Do ninja apprentice with civilians? Vice versa? How long does archival paper last, anyway? Is it even paper to begin with? Who looks after books? Are there scribes? ILLUMINATIONS???

Honestly, I could keep going forever, but you could throw a stone at any topic and I'd love it pretty genuinely. Urban planning, language/accent tutoring, nightingale floors, school curricula, in-universe tarot cards (divination is totally an industry, right?)...

If it matters, Naruto characters I particularly like are Kakashi (ARCHIVISTS HATE HIM) and Tenzo (ARBORISTS WANT TO BE HIM) and Minato, but I'll read about anyone, including OCs.

Possible fun opt-ins: botanical illustrations, pressed botanicals, journals/sketchbooks, spreadsheets (er, appropriate to Naruto?)/expense reports, scientific documents, technical codes/design specifications, translation analysis, MAPS, religious texts... THE OPPORTUNITIES ARE ENDLESS.

No DNWs.

Hikaru no Go

Touya Kouyou & Ogata Seiji, Solo: Touya Kouyou

I am on a real Touya Kouyou kick, somehow, so HIT ME WITH WHATEVER YOU'VE GOT. I just love crazy dignified papa Touya and his not-so-secret wildly-similar-to-Akira obsessive tendencies that are masked, one assumes, by his age and reputation. Kouyou's Seen Some Things, has raised a rabble of Go players and a son, and is now off gallivanting doing who-knows-what off of the leash of professional Japanese Go.

The latter, to me, is supremely interesting because professional Go in Japan is exactly that: a profession tied to a professional association. What does cutting himself off from all that being in the association – a salary, the ability to compete in professional matches, the events and the access to the association's resources – look like for Kouyou? Does Not Much Change because he's such a figure of Japanese Go? Or maybe focus on what he gains by not being tied to the association: freedom to set his own schedule, to travel, to play whatever the heck type of matches he wants with whomever the heck he pleases...

I also love the idea of Kouyou as a mentor. His study group is this hilarious combination of personality types and ages, and he's got both the supremely up-and-coming, the already successful, and the might-not-be-a-title-winner types all in one bag. Tell me more about that! How did he meet them? How DOES one get introduced to THE Touya Kouyou?

Re: Ogata & Kouyou - just, gosh. They're such different people. I would love for you to dig into Ogata's unspoken other-ness, whether you want to speculate on his background, his socio-economic status, his unhealthy addiction to fish/cigarettes, his lifestyle... How does that tie into his relationship with his master, especially considering that he's becoming so successful himself as we meet him in canon? How does that relationship change over time, especially with Akira' advent and then, later on, Hikaru's? GIVE ME TEENAGED OGATA ANGST IF YOUR HEART WILLS IT.

However you want to tie Go the game into the fic itself, I'm also all here for it. Whether it's a language, an inter-generational tie, a crux, a curse, I WANT IT ALL. I also know about as little about how to play Go as someone who has spent an unhealthy amount of time researching historical Go players could possibly know, so please don't feel the need to be particularly accurate about anything because I know far more Go-related nouns than I know actual Go rules...

Prince of Tennis

Fuji Shuusuke/Tezuka Kunimitsu

I am highly predictable, this is me. If you've written them for me before, I very much opt into sequels/prequels! The rest of this prompt is copy-pasta'd from 2022:

I could eat this pair for breakfast every day for the rest of my life and be happy. They smash all my buttons re: competence porn, complex friendships, silent-but-deadly, smouldering inner landscapes, still waters run deep, and do it all in a canon that has had them essentially actually be married looking after a group of feel-good lunatics.

I think Tezuka is hugely dimensional despite his I'm-40-call-me-buchou face: the New Prince of Tennis U-16s Yamato-kicks-his-head-in and German pro arc solidified that for me as Tezuka yeets himself out of Japan to go burn passionately for himself. That said, please don't feel like you need to go consume Konomi's never-ending canons; I'm just as happy if you draw from the OG anime.

FUJI, meanwhile, WHERE DO I BEGIN. I love his Janus-like personality: I believe there's genuine kindness/gentleness to him just as I believe that he'll grind your nose into a cement curb and break every bone in your body. I know my DNW of "please don't make Fuji too much of an asshole" seems a little washy, but all that means is that if Fuji is - say - destroying someone's entire universe, that he do it for a relatively good reason. I expect NO LIMITS to what this human being could do. Again, the later arcs hint at Fuji tipping slowly on the scales of his dedication to tennis beyond a fun thing to do in the afternoons, and offer us tantalising prospects of Fuji possibly being as good (or better) than Tezuka/Yukimura/Atobe/whoever he damned well puts his mind to being better at. The push/pull of Fuji being unable to fully commit to tennis while also being fully committed enough to, say, stalking Tezuka to the hospital, to the Nationals, and around the world is GREAT.

As a pair in canon, it's always been the little things. I love that almost every scene in which the two of them are present involves a shot of them quietly next to one another: evaluating games, or Tezuka waiting for Fuji to tie his shoelaces, or Fuji knowing when Tezuka is going to just randomly disappear again. It's not shouted from the hilltops, but that's what I love about it: how they fly it under the radar, how Fuji refuses to let himself be on the "executive committee" of team leadership but is there anyway, how Tezuka can actually sit next to him and maybe not be a captain or national figure.

So, in terms of actual prompts, ha! I'm not joking: give me anything. I love in-canon stuff, post-canon stuff, missing scenes, random crack, AUs, ARs, ANYTHING THAT IS MORE OF THEM. Some additional random thoughts:

  • Missing scene: Fuji plays Atobe, and Tezuka has way too many feelings about it
  • Midsummer Night's Dream AU: someone (maybe even Fuji) plays a trick on Tezuka and bewitches him to be UNWILLINGLY IN LOVE with Fuji - how aware Tezuka is of this compulsion and how much he fights it is up to you. Plot twist: by the end of the night's dream, Tezuka reveals that the compulsion'd worn off a long time ago, but was a good excuse to act like ____
  • Competence porn: a writeup about their playstyles? A look at their standings in high school/the pro circuit? Echizen getting smacked down by a leveled-up Fuji and outsider perspective-ing the two of them?
  • Injury/disability AU: some hurt/comfort or competence co-dependence in a situation where either of them has to not overcome but live with a long-term impairment = amazing. Whether this is in our normal universe or some AU (magic? they're both ninja in Naruto?) is up to you!
  • I have this vague memory of an AMAZING Fuji/Tezuka ship manifesto from the Times of LJ Yore, so I'd love one of those brought up to date 8D

Feel free to also reference my other letters (findable via this post's tags -> exchange letters) for this pairing.

Canon notes: Prince of Tennis has a ridiculous amount of material: please pick and choose to your liking. I've watched both the original run of PoT and read/watched all the New Prince of Tennis anime/manga. I honestly am not picky! I'm a character-focused reader, so don't feel the need to canon review to the last detail.

Original Work

Male Architect/Male Client Who Keeps Changing Project Requirements (OW)

I've poured most of what my brain can come up with into my AO3 signup! If you're here for the architecture, I'm really here to read whatever you want to write. Or if you have a hankering to write some self-indulgent wish-fulfilment house/design/nice things comfort fic, I am so there for that. I'm down for any combination of client/architect relationship/backstory you can come up with, but some things I'd particularly love just at this point in time:

  • Hurt/comfort or comfort-comfort! One of them is coming off of a bad relationship, project, career milestone/end-of-the-line, financial situation, medical mystery, gaping emotional hole in their life or whatever you come up with and the other SWOOPS IN AND FILLS THAT UP, with some sprinkling of tension/banter along the way
  • Competence! Competence! I'd love for the project requirements sand-shifting to be more because of complete obsessive attention to detail than because someone is just mean about it. Two people working on a project of PASSION!!!! Interpret passion as you will.
  • Budget, what budget?
  • Other People Don't Get It, but they Get Each Other.

[Original prompt:] I love me some good architecture and I love me people with disposable income who need some good architecture created for them. I love design and competence and the chaos that is creating an entire built environment for someone's needs. I'm also deeply, deeply hankering for some hurt/comfort or just comfort-comfort of someone with the means spoiling someone else utterly, whether that's with material goods or loving design. I'M HERE ALL THE TROPES, let's goooo:

  • Client is Very Rich, but no one knows he's Very Rich, and this is the first Very Rich Thing he's done and he has no idea how hiring an architectural firm/architect works
  • Client wants to build the retirement/escape-from-reality alpine modern cabin in the woods, full of warm lighting and A-frame structures and a sauna. The architect is getting flown all over the place investigating potential sites because there isn't even a potential site yet: just an idea. This is not a metaphor for the client just badly needing a friend/someone to intimately share their ideas with.
  • Naturally the client keeps changing the project requirements so that the architect stays on the project forever. While being paid. To do this. This being have meetings with the client. This is not... hiring an escort or anything.
  • Client is one of those people who need to examine Fifteen Types of White Paint, house-builder-zilla, and the architect finally snaps and employs a strong hand. This goes differently/exactly/?? as expected.
  • Client runs out of money midway through the project. What... do...?
  • The project requirements keep changing because the client is secretly a vampire/angel/demon/creature with Special Architectural Needs
  • The project is a reclaimed castle/mill/historical site and the architect is the immortal/vampire/demon/creature who is suspiciously good at historical reconstruction for Reasons
  • There are some... special rooms that the client is commissioning. This leads to research/shenanigans/someone getting tied up to test the structural integrity of the artfully disguised hooks in the walls
  • Architect runs into municipal planning committee problems; client somehow is capable of Magically Solving Them
  • Outrageous buying sessions at various vendors giving the architect, already used to big projects, feelings. Maybe the client is somehow magically acquiring all of architect's favourite things/works of art! How mysterious! WHO IS THIS HOUSE FOR, AGAIN?

Medium prompts!

  • Sketches of the different designs and their evolutions! ANNOTATIONS ON THE SIDES OF THE SKETCHES! Maybe one of them is one colour, one of them is another...
  • Any compilation of technical documents/in-universe documents. Receipts! Spreadsheets! Paint swatches! Descriptions of materials! An invoice for that historic piece of lumber!
  • Interior design notes!
  • The special interior design binder....
  • The Architect sends a "McMansion Hell (NO) Post" to the client for Reasons

I'm a huge lover of modern cabin-core, art deco, cathedrals, restored industrial buildings, brick, Japanese concrete/ceramic (Ando Tadao!!!) design, wood-and-metal, and any architectural history you could throw at me will almost certainly convert me to that mood.

DNW: sad endings, though sad beginnings and middles and near-endings are more than welcome!

Disco Elysium

Solo: Kim Kitsuragi; WB: Cars in Revachol

Kim is just the best. I adore his sense of fashion, of self, of the world around him. One of my favourite skills in the game is Esprit de Corps, and it reminds me of Kim: cop-Shivers. Anything you'd like to write about his motivations, his origins, his interests and his future would be candy to me – Kim is just a cool cat and I adore him.

Meanwhile, the way cars are described in the game – especially Kim's Kineema and Harry's unfortunate vehicle – is so evocative that I want to eat it up and have more of it. Worldbuild away! What cars say about Revachol and their owners fascinates me. Then there's the idea of them as actual vehicles: the slice city we get to see in the game is so strange, on the edge of the sea and the Pale with these boats and cars that can take you to other places. Where can you go with a car in this universe? What gets embedded into the paint, the seats; what can the headlights illuminate or the radios play?

[Original prompt:]

Kim!

Kim is incredible. I love his secret (and not so secret) nerdy/intense hobbies; I love how he wants to Do The Right Thing even as he's also a jaded police officer in a rotten system; his dry as dust humour and the fleeting glimpses we get to see of his personal life and history. I'd love to know more about him at any point in his timeline:

  • What was his childhood like, especially growing up in Revachol and coming to identify with it? What's his relationship with his Seolite heritage like, all things considered? One of my favourite moments in the game is also when Kim talks about Dolorianism, so any window into his religious beliefs/flavour of faith (in as broad an interpretation as you wish) would be great.
  • What was his entry into the RCM like, or the years he spent slowly climbing the ranks?
  • WHAT IS HIS REPUTATION AMONGST OTHER PEOPLE? I would love a sidelong look at Kim via break room gossip, mission reports, promotion documents, ex-boyfriends...
  • What about him in the subcultures of his hobbies – goodness I would give a lot to see Kim at... track day, or in a mechanic's shop, or younger him spending too much time at arcades or bars or bookshops. Or an ode to his Kineema.
  • I am a sucker for competence porn, so anything that shows Kim going way too hard at his hobbies would be incredible. Car schematics? Wild organisation systems for his tools/games? Spreadsheets that he uses?
  • Clothing porn! Clothing porn! Give me all of Kim's clothing porn!
  • What is he like after Harry rocks his investigative world? How does he change as a police officer, or how does he change the MCU?
  • Kim loses his glasses during a mission; what' happens?
  • Mediums: Kim tarot!!!! Kim's notebooks! Kim's handwriting - what does that look like (as a typeface!?)? What does Kim's desk look like? Or his home?

I don't ship Kim with anyone, but feel free to write whatever pleases you as long as the focus is primarily on Kim!

Cars in Revachol

The CARS. The CARS. Kim's reaction to cars. The sound of cars. The look of cars. The way cars can be an insight into how the whole of society functions: how are they made? Where are they made? Who drives them? What are licensing requirements like? How are they modified? Are modifications legal? Where are parts imported from? Can they ride the Pale into the deep moonlight on a long, long drive to nowhere?

I'm obviously biased towards Kim and his relationship with cars, but I'd love pretty much any worldbuild using this topic as a lens.

  • Tell me about... car fleets. What do government car fleets look like across different functions? Taxi fleets, cargo fleets (if we stretch the definition of car a little...)... How do different groups view different fleets of cars? What are the specifications of each type?
  • SCHEMATICS.
  • Kim: can he afford a personal vehicle? What has he done to cars over the years? Are cars his Anodic Dance Music?
  • Cars have personalities too, right? Cars x the Thought Cabinet = ...? Alternatively: cars have politics too, right?
  • What about how the average person on different types of streets reacts to different types of cars?
  • Hidden compartments in cars: where are they, what's in them?
  • Non-fic mediums: car magazines! Speedfreak FM epsidoes/radio transcripts!
