In less capslocky news, I highly encourage all bored/blocked out writers and/or artists on the flist to head on over to IJ to participate in Kinkfest or in Porn Battle. Both very fun communities, and the former is chock full of really, really awesome writers and readers.

People also encouraged to leave their addresses for Christmas cards &c. in the post below this one. Just sayin'. 8D

I think I liked that bit and the bit where he cuts himself with the Batarang most. Bruce isn't drawn so well in this though; you can see they really made an effort to get Jason right but pretty much went "meh" for Bruce...

I have seen this Porn Battle on your lj before!!! Very eenteresting.

I JUST OH MY GOD YEAH. When Jason slit the back of his head with the batarang I THINK I SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUSTED. But jesus, the whole arc is beautiful. I was kinda sad that they made Dick MYSTERIOUSLY DISAPPEAR (brotherly reunion! So good!), but I think it's fair trade for the OMGWTFUCK look on Bruce's face when Jason sort of casually mentions, oh hay, that's Bludhaven blowing up in the background.

I completely FREAKED. I haven't read that arc, so I was like "WHAT?!?! NO. NOOOO!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!"

Oh god, that arc is heartbreaking - but it's the beginning of the new start to Dick's life, so I guess it's also kind of good. Like. Dick goes home to Bludhaven after dealing with the Murderer/Fugitive problem, and he's still five thousand flavours of guilty re: Blockbuster and associated problems. THEN HIS CITY BLOWS UP. And Dick is obsessed and sad and freaked out - there's radiation everywhere because they basically dropped the metahuman equivalent of an atom bomb on the place, but Dick insists on going into ground zero and dragging out - would you believe this boy - criminals whom he thinks may still be alive.

Eventually he collapses. And Bruce is there, picking him up. Eeeeeeee.

Though, admittedly, I'm kind of confused at points because I'm pretty sure Dixk *isn't* on speaking terms with Bruce while his leg is all breaky - and if his leg is all breaky but healing, then it should've been post-Bludhaven going 'splody. I DO NOT KNOW HAVE TO REREAD THINGS EEE.

You know what I really, really need? Tim Drake's introduction into the DCU. "A Lonely Place of Dying"? Batman 447 or thereabouts? I can't be sure. There is absolutely no way I'll be able to find the single issues of Tim Drake's first appearance; I just have to hope they put out a trade paperback and I can track it down by way of Wiki or something. Even so...God, that was 20 years ago. Where the hell was I?

Nah, that one's Nightwing. This one's a Batman short - it's compiled into two TPBs called Under The Hood. And lord in heaven. It slays me. Next time I catch you on AIM I'll send some over.

I don't think I'll manage to fit, like, real!Jason in (can I say, wow, reading new characters halfway through fic = bad for planning), but heh, so much potential for futurefic. *g* *g*
