On prop-8: good night, and good luck

This is the most touching thing I've listened to in most of my life. And god, I love human hope and decency.

You are asked to stand not on a question of politics, on a question of religion, on a question of gay or straight; you are asked now to ask on a question of love. All you need is stand, and let the tiny ember of love meet its own fate. You don't have to help it. You don't have to applaud it. You don't have to fight for it. Just don't put it out. Just don't extinguish it. Because while it may look like that love is between two people you don't know, you don't understand, maybe you don't want to know, that ember is the love you have for your fellow person. Because this is the only other world we have, the the other guy counts too.

... I wish it were in the hearts of all. So I be written in the book of love, I do not care about that book above. Erase my name or write it as you will. So I be written in the book of love.

Good night, and good luck.

I SWEAR I WILL STOP TALKING ABOUT POLITICS SOON.

Oh god.

I.

I am crying. In a good way.

Thank you, Keith Olbermann. Thank you.

♥♥ I love your for posting this. I never even knew this was out there, and it's so good to view too. (And I really don't mind you talking about politics really!) I admire him for standing up like that, I wish I dared to, because I totally agree with what he said. In fact, a lot of what he said are the same things I that ran through my mind when I read the article of Prop 8 in the news paper (and numerous other occasions) - except I never voiced them.

I sure hope one day we'll all look back on this whole issue and frown upon it. Just like with the law that forbid marriage between "white" and "black" people.

Hehe, well, I haven't really done anything other than prattle about politics for the last few posts, so D: if people were D: at it, but I'm glad that this makes people smile! ♥ Words like these make the world feel like a genuinely better place. :D :D :D

So, I have a huge lump in my throat right now and keep wiping at my eyes. Thank you for posting this, and thank you Keith Olbermann.
