Finally settled up at home and up to figuring out how to do this...

Low-Key Handmade Exchange

tl;dr: Create something out of your stash or within whatever limited budget you want to set for yourself and ship it to a fellow participant.

How does this sound to folks for rules/a setup before we actually buckle down:

Schedule
Offers: ~ a day or two from now - 31 Jan
Signups: 1 Feb - 7 Feb
Shipping Deadline: 1 Feb - 29 Feb

During offers, participants list the items they're willing to create. This gets compiled into a list for signups.

During signups, participants list a minimum number of things they're willing to receive - depending on how many people we get - and how far they're willing to ship. And whether they can pinch-hit if we need to!

Matches are made to the best of my ability, and then we have a shipping deadline of the end of February.

How does that sound to folks?

Aw, thanks for the encouragement - but actually I'm not a crafter, I just like seeing other people's crafts!

I'm not sure how you are proposing to do the signups; I wouldn't mind having a little more info, like: I have rings in the colors silver, gold, purple, and blue (which I plan to make clear in my offers) -- and if someone loves purple and hates blue, I'd love it if they told me so, so I could make them a bracelet in purple and not blue :)

That makes total sense! (And makes rather more sense than what I was thinking of, which was something along the lines of Yuletide, which... okay, would not work very well, lol.)
