Because all three of them are very, um, capable Robins, I am sure. They have, all of them, worked long and hard to gain Bruce's, uh, approval. (Said approval is also probably why Jason shouldn't be kneeing Dick in the crotch.

But I think Dick and Tim do doubt Jason's, y'know. Sanity. After he breaks into a secure facility just so that he can ambush Tim in order to let everyone with a Bat symbol on them know that he's feeling kind of unloved.

Um. Jason. You died. There's a memorial to you in the Batcave. Bruce uses you as an emotional grenade whenever the rest of the family tries anything stupid and/or foolish. Their angst about you? It is big. It is deadly. It eats small children for breakfast. What did you want Bruce to do? Beat the Joker up with a crowbar?

*pats Jason soothingly* Don't worry. We all know it's tough being the middle child. And, looking at who preceeded you (acrobat, sex on legs, blindly devoted and loyal and happy Nightwing) and who succeeded you (detective, insanely clever, critical and complementary), who could blame you?

You still totally deserved that kick in the balls, though. There's hope for you yet, Tim!

Meanwhile, I will continue to be amazed at how no one in the superhero community has, uh, made fun of and/or noticed and/or called Bruce out on his somewhat unhealthy obsession with boys who look like that. I mean. Hot damn, the three of them could literally be brothers...

[edit] OH MY GOD. I just bought and read Robin: Year One and JESUS CHRIST my heart is BURNING IN MY CHEST. Bruce. Bruce was so different, but not in a bad way, just in that unimaginable way that has to do with grace, and the way the world robs you of it if you livein it too long, and too hard. AND DICK. JEsjfjflashflahlfJAJFALF I can't even BEGIN TO DESCRIBE asfjaljf oh my god. He went to a public middle school. Willingly. He loves Alfred/Alfie. With all his heart. He looks after Bruce. And uses Bruce's own standards as his own, without qualm and without complaint. And then he gets his face beaten in and his only answer to Bruce's RIDICULOUS WAY OF SHOWING HE CARES? Is an apology.

So, is Terry adopted, because he also looks vaguely like the trio above and nothing like his parentals...maybe it's just that Bruce wanders around procreating at random, with hundreds of women, and when they drop the bubbies he gets involved in the only parental way he knows how; by dressing the boys as bats and letting them run riot about the cityscape. Which is always good.

re: 7, not particularly! Unless we have different questions because it occurred to me that anyone who sends them on could be changing them up for the next person with hilarious consequences! I kinda hope that's what happened and we're all looking at different questions.

But anyway, I did fine, but in high school I mostly hung out with theater geeks and in college I don't think of the word "popular" applying cos everyone's just doing their own thing? I'm intrigued that you thought of me for that question though! :D

Oh my God, Robin: Year One. Read that just after they posted about it in scans_daily, and WEPT. And I JUST bought and read "Under the Hood", and wept SO MUCH MORE.

Did you see the bit in Superman/Batman where Billy Batson totally Kryptonites Bruce with his adorable wee dark-haired-and-blue-eyed-ness? Obviously someone was paying attention. And if the writers were planning to make Captain Marvel even freakier than I already think he is....then, well done.

And Terry is COMPLETELY using his scrumptiousness to get away with everything. There can be no other explanation for the Melanie/Ten fiasco.

Is Under the Hood good? I have no idea what's going on with Jason in current continuity -- I mean, fandom loves him to death, and that is always awesome because fandom loves the underdog, but IS HE STILL EVIL, FOR THE BAT-GIVEN VALUE OF EVIL?

Currently he's faffing about with Donna Troy in Countdown--not the good kind of faffing either. :P Not very clear on what it is exactly they're doing...should check out the copies I have at my bookstore. I just love Under the Hood cos that's where they bring him back, and he's really quite evil. Except when he gets all w00by says, "I just love to watch you work." Most of Superman/Batman is kind of meh, especially Torment (wtfMarySue), but Absolute Power and Best Stories Ever Told and the last two issues are my very favourite.
