To the fic-readers: you're out of luck for this week month and the next, most likely. D: This house is busy with applications and/or panicking and/or revision, and it is a busy house. Meanwhile, distract yourself with any one of the following:
- the US elections
- the US elections
- or, the US elections
To my to-do list: please get shorter. D: D: D: Remember to: confirm mailing addresses of the people you're sending
livelongnmarry notebooks to at the end of this month.
The I'll-answer-5-questions-and-you-can-ask-me-to-ask-you-5-questions meme, from
white_jenna:
1. What are you listening to right now, and why?
Recently? I dug out my Placebo rares/remixes collection. Right now, Every You, Every Me is on loop. Very effective for bouts of self-(inflicted) loathing at 2 in the morning with your printer messing up and your papers going everywhere. 8D
2. When did you start writing?
Fiction? I think when I was 7. *g* It was a hobby kind of thing. My dad bought a PC, but we didn't get internet or even Microsoft Office until I was about ten or eleven, so I'd amuse myself by reading the pre-installed Compton's Encyclopaedia and making up stories about my family and friends on Wordpad. I still do that, thinking about it. Well. Wordpadding, that is. 8D
Fanfiction? I started out when I was about ten or eleven, when the internet came into my life, but it was all crap. I drifted out of writing and into reading, which made me realise how awful I was. I re-entered Final Fantasy VII in 2005 or 2006 under a different name, wrote a short series, then got out again. It's really only been since December last year that I've remained in one place for long enough for my username to mean anything. xD
3. What did you want to be when you grew up?
As a kid? An archaeologist. They used to play NatGeo on afternoon television all the damned time. I think I learned more in those years than I have in the last five years. As I got into writing, I wanted to be a writer, and then I got into art, and I wanted to be a graphic designer, and then I got into webdesign, and I wanted to be a webdesigner or programmer, and I've been fortunate enough to have been able to try my hand out at a lot of that stuff over the years. Now I'm supposed to figure out where I want to go for university, and thus Murphy dictates that I have absolutely no idea what I want to do at all, except to drop mathematics like a hot rock.
4. Name one person who has influenced you.
Oh, wow, that's hard. There are people who've influenced me directly, indirectly, historically, peripherally... No one person's actually been a total, overarching influence in my life. Uh. In terms of life life, I think my English teacher from two years ago kicked more about wisdom, pushing myself, testing limits and relativity into my head than a good number of humans beings ever did before her or have after her. I'm very grateful.
Oh, and that reviewer from FF.net back in '02 who flamed me about not writing slash. I didn't even know what slash really was. THANK YOU. I OWE YOU A GREAT DEAL. 8D 8D
5. What's you favorite ice cream flavor?
Call me lame, but I appreciate a good vanilla taken with hot coffee or tea. God, I'm a white picket fence.

Heh, even if you do have an idea what you want to do, it might change. I majored in creative writing, and the most important thing I learned was that I don't want to write for a living. I don't think I'd have been happy with any other major, though. And as a plus, I only ever had to take one math class, for gen ed, and it was all stuff I'd done in high school.

I'm getting closer to Law, but I really want to write. But at the end of the day I think I'll be happier pursuing something professional while I type furiously in my free time. :D
