\o\ Reading stuff

Stolen off [livejournal.com profile] logistika_nyx

One of the highlights of going to a literary festival is hearing authors read from their own works. What author, living or dead, would you most like to hear read?

If you want to hear me read a tiny snippet (less than 200 words, please!) off one of my fics, I am totally willing to waste the voiceposts that I have available to do so. :D

In other memes, one I'm just going to pitch out to you guys because I'm really too busy to write much right now:

Have you ever had a story you wanted to see done by a particular writer? What would it be?

I'm fully and openly keen on seeing what you guys want to see more of, because man, am I running in multiple fandom directions right now. D: I'd really, really love to know if there's something in either Final Fantasy VII or Batman or Discworld that any of you would want to read from me: I'm compiling a list to keep me busy once my exams are done, and I'd love to write something that's a bit of a gift-like-thing to you all as a holiday season lead-in. Feel free to take any idea and run with it for as long as you'd like, or to tell me if you wanted to see something go differently at any timestamp in any one of my old fics, or if there's a fandom you think I should write it. More is happy! :D

Plus, it'll help me take my mind off the paper I just totally blew. And not in a good, life affirming kind of way.

Oh, oh, part of "That I knew would not be there" please! I'm kind of addicted to the whole Bruce-training-Terry thing (she says as if she hadn't made that clear before), and I'm not sure I even care which part of it you read. I just, you know. Pullups. Bruce. Mmmmmm...

Also, this is a cool meme. I've been meaning to buy a microphone anyway, so maybe I'll go ahead and get one here soon and try this, too. Fun.

I'll have to think more about anything particular I'd be interested in for the second question, but I'm sure you can guess the general direction it will be going, based on my usual requests. ;D

Heh, I will probably fail at male voices with great failure, but I'll see what I can rack up over the weekend! :D

Man, I totally owe the BBeyond parts of the flist more of the Lead arc, so yeah. \o Beyond can be so difficult sometimes! 8D

Ooh, I wanna hear you read from your own work. <3 I just can't decide from which one. Ehm... *goes through your fics*

Empery. I want to hear you read Empery, especially the intro. :3

I like this idea. You think anyone'd be interested in hearing me read my own works? ...I just don't have voice posts. :/

[identity profile] karanguni.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
:D :D I WILL TRY!

DDD: At no voiceposts - maybe you could just record it normally? If you don't have server space I've got lots that you can use to upload a wav or mp3 file for people to download!

Yeah, I could record it normally. And I have a server, so that helps. (It hosts my pretty portfolio site. <3 ) I don't think I'll have to use it though, not expecting anyone to respond, hahah.

I Met a Man (Save Me) :)
I loved that drabble, and I've never read American Gods or seen Baccano. (They are now on my to read/watch list)

Hee, that's actually one of my favourite pieces, too!

I look forward to hearing your (reputedly) mangled accent ^^

Also, hope you don't have too many exams to go?

[identity profile] karanguni.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 12:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, oh yeah, my accent is mangled. For its true managled nature, though, you need to have me in conversation: my English auto-morphs to approximate something close to the accent of the people whom I'm speaking with. On my own it modulates it a temporary Norm (TM).

I'm exactly halfway through, with four more coming up hard and fast after the weekend!

[identity profile] dnatio-memoriae.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 12:35 pm (UTC)(link)
ooh. An auto-morphing accent? *curiosity is piqued*

As for exams, go forth and conquer!

[identity profile] karanguni.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 12:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. At international camps it can be pretty hilarious for me; I once swung from Indian-accented English right into a sort of Brisbane drawl and off into Japanese-speed Engrish. ALL ON A BUS. :D

\o

You swing. Like a pendulum. I must hear this. In a voice post.

[identity profile] karanguni.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 12:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I HAVE NO ONE TO SWING TOWARDS AHAHA.
