AND THEY SAID, HAVE WE DONE WITH THE WAR AT LAST?
Twenty days gone and I haven't touched this journal - why? I'LL TELL YOU WHY.
GUNDAM WING. JAsklfasfj. Nignghghhh. I put off picking up this series for so long, and now that I have eaten it whole in the last two weeks, my head has exploded and I want to sacrifice my first-born children to Okiayu Ryutarou and Koyasu Takehito. TREIZE AND ZECHS. Oh god. Can you say happy mindfuck evil best friends fighting wars WARS big machines BANG BANG BANG. I... I need to go get a calculator now. What's five multiplied by six multiplied by thirteen? That number is going to be my One True Integer now, or something. It's so beautiful that I am incapable of writing complete and coherent paragraphs. Oh, oh, Gundamn Wing. I may be ten years too late and then some, but at least I have caught the late train in. \o/
In other words, life actually has re-started. And not in the gawking-at-Okada-in-SP kind of way. Back to school and I haven't touched anything even vaugely fannish outside of GW; I'm doing research papers - general research papers - on polytheism and monotheism that will have my self-completing a, uh, uh, uh, comparative religion course vis-a-vis haunting my local library by the time I'm done. OR SOMETHING. \o/ At least I get to blabber on about an author I love for my literature paper. OH JOY, and fuzzy redlining.
Braaaaaains. So many things to write, so little time. WHERE IS THE PRESSURE. Also, can anyone recommend any good music?

YAY STUDYING RELIGION!! ::is a religion major::
W-what sort of music? This is totally random, but everything Wilson Pickett did is awesome, and everything Sly and the Family Stone did is awesome. I definitely recommend checking out at least the sort of "best of" albums of those two.

RELIGIONNN. I'm not a big religious-y person myself, so there's a huge joke there. xD BUT GOD YEY MY TUTOR LIKES MY PROPOSAL, SO ONWARDS INTO THE GENERAL STUDIES SECTION I GO. HEAVE HO.
D: D: D: I AM SAD OF NOT HAVING HEARD OF THESE NAMES BEFORE. I shall investigate immediately! <333333

But you can totally write fic without the details!! XD I read so many fics where they were all staying in a safehouse together, and then when I watched the show i think they do that, like, once? Or something. But I'd been under the impression that every episode was the five boys together in a safehouse.
WUFEI!! One of the only Japanese words I knew before getting into JE was "onna," thanks to Wufei. My sister and I still shout it at each other occasionally. Also "GET OUT OF MY SIGHT, YOU WEAKINGS!!" And stuff about people being weak because they are women.
I can definitely appreciate a good fic about Zechs and his yards of platinum blond hair, but I was never that into him - and I realize now it's because I was actually 15 when I became a fan. XD So I was all crushing on the boys and not the men!
XD I'm totally not religious either! I've just dedicated four years of my life to studying it! I find it really interesting, though.
They aren't well known, but once you listen to their songs you'll probably recognize a few. Especially Wilson Pickett. Although it may be an American thing, I have a hard time gauging what's a "standard" in other countries, but I think some of his songs definitely will have spread pretty far.

From what I've read, fandom seems to really like this safehouse idea! I guess 'cause it's been around a long time, huh? 8D
WUFEI. OH THE BEAUTIFUL, ANGRY, OPPRESSED BOY. I WEEP TEARS OF GLEE AT/FOR HIM.
Ooh, ooh, did you watch the show in English audio or the original Japanese? I went back and watched an ep or two in English, and ajslfaslkjflkasjflkasjf damn it, Zechs' character gets ruined by virtue of the voice actor alone. Koyasu Takehito is - is -- amazingly good at the depth and tone thing, but the English VA (can't remember his name now, Brian something?) took Zechs' character and rippity rip stab stab. ;_;
\o/ RELIGIONS FOR THE WIN. So much fun to study the stuff. (The books and books and photocopying-bills-from-hell worth of stuff. D:)
Mmmmmm, musiccc. Standard outside of America? Well, this here little island tends to broadcast more or less total mainstream pop/R&B/hip hop on the livelier airwaves; but the people themselves can end up listening to a lot of indie stuff, thanks to ye godly interwebs. :D

P.S. Quatre was never my favorite, but OH MY GOD HIS HORDE OF ARABIAN SERVANTS!! Rashid is one of my favorite characters. XD They're hilarious!
Ahhh, I wasn't clear. DX Wilson Pickett's songs are standards in that they're classic - they aren't stuff that gets a lot of radio play, but rather what a DJ might play at a wedding to get people dancing because everyone knows it. He was most popular in the 60s. I have to get to class now, but I'll upload some of his songs later! :D

YES HAHAHA OMG THEY RISE FROM THE SANDPITS AND WORSHIP HIS TINY LITTLE SHAPE.
:OOOOOO MUSIC! I should do a post soon, and stop withering around. xD
