Pimping: More Dick Grayson
You know, they say fandom is good for a lot of things. Like learning more about yourself by providing you a safe playground with friendly people who don't usually discriminate. Like bridging all the gaps of race and age and social status and sexuality.
Tonight, I will give you something more profound. I give you eye candy.
Doesn't matter if you don't read DC comics. Because, after you click this cut, you will read DC comics. Dick Grayson isn't just Robin/son of Batman/Batman's psychotically cheerful and brilliant ward, he's also
a) dressed way too tightly
b) capable and/or likely to have/had sleep/slept with any/all character(s) he encounters
c) probably canonically done b)
d) far more able to stand his own ground than you can imagine
The last pimp post had Dick being all wibbly. Bigger brother. Filial son. Cheerful impish boyfriend.
Today we present you with:

Short biography
1: Grew up in a circus doing acrobatic work. Insert flexibility joke here.
2: Aged 8, he watches his parents fall to death from a sabotaged trapeze. Becomes Batman's ward.
3: Grows up to become insanely hot and/or intelligent and/or stupid and/or emotionally messed up and/or capable and/or all of the above, while being Robin.
4: As Robin, joins a group called the Teen Titans. Makes lots of really good side-kick friends.
5: Those sidekick friends grow up to be extremely hot and/or smart in their own rights. Let us introduce sample number one: Roy Harper, aka Arsenal, aka Speedy, aka adoptive ward of the Green Arrow (Oliver Queen):
He's the guy. On the right. He and Dick are very good friends. Such good friends that his teammates start bitching for him to come back to work after a stint of medical leave just so the old swingin' sexual tension can be resolved. I will just be here, waving my GIANT FLAG OF APPROVAL.
6: Grows up more to become Nightwing. Eventually joins an advance hit-squad called The Outsiders. They do the dirty work of the viligante underworld, mostly in between having lots of a) sex and b) quarrels and c) unresolved sexual tension.

Remember Roy? Well, yeah, he does come back to work. These are the results:

So, giant spoiler here: Roy's coming back to active duty after being shot. By a gun. Five times. Not very pretty.
Dick comes from a, uh, family that objects to guns even being on premises, much less in hand, much less being pointed at the BFF's face.

Read the entire, beautiful, messed up thing here: Outsiders #11. Those interested in Roy and his relation to the Original Bat can read Batman Plus Arsenal, in which Roy tries to find the mother of his beautiful baby girl (Lian). That woman just happens to be an internationally wanted assassin, that's all. *BEAMS* Dick very graciously refers him to Batman, whom Roy has the equanimity to call "not human". Just read it. It's a standalone. And beautiful. And hilarious.
#2: EXHIBIT NUMBER TWO: DADDY DEAREST IS VERY DEAR
I think we've mentioned Batman before. Pointy ears. Manipulative son of a bitch. Has the heart of a stone. A chipped, hard, cut-your-bleeding-wrist kind of stone.
So Outsiders were being funded by this company called Optitron. Fed them. Clothed them. Bought them their gigantic underground bunker to play save-the-world in. Guess who owns Optitron?
Yeah. So. Dick has a few issues with Dad pulling all the strings in his life:

Bruce's very eloquent answer to the Most Beloved Prodigal:

They spend quite a while yelling at each other. Or, Dick yells, Bruce waits. Just as Dick's about to blow a few arteries, Bruce comes up with a real good line: you put too much faith in me.
Cue Dick:
Confused!Dick is confused! Until he looks backwards and sees the memorial to the Robin who succeeded him in the background. Alas, Jason Todd. We knew him well. Until he died, and caused Bruce to angst about his family 24/7.
Dick presently shuts up and evolves into the biggest woob son ever to exist. I do love Bat family politics. Read the whole fiasco in Outsiders #21.
#3: EXHIBIT NUMBER THREE: DID I SAY BAT FAMILY POLITICS?
Oh, Jason Todd. Robin number 2. Stealer of Dick's epic position. The One Who Died.
No one seems to be able to stay dead in DC canon, which is why he comes back and insinuatesnasty beautiful things about Dick.
Have we mentioned that Jason decided to become a murdering psycho upon his return, because he got convinced that Bat-Daddy didn't avenge his self-wrought demise enough? Yeaaaaah. Bruce's sons tend to have small issues like that.
They spend a lot of Outsiders #44 rolling around and lying on top of each other like every good brotherly pair should. Amen, DC, amen.
More conventionally, I've packed together Gotham Knights #8 - #11 for anyone who wants a nice, clean introduction to Batman, Nightwing, Robin and Alfred. The Batfamily is beautiful. And brilliant and tasty.

Then there's Gotham Knights #14, which is nothing but Dick talking to Bruce. Believe me when I say that this is worth your time.
All .cbr/cbz files are really just nicely named .rar/zip files, made for easy reading using CDisplay. Go Google and download this very tiny, small and excellent image display programme - it makes reading comics very, very easy.
Otherwise, you can just rename anything with a funny ending to a .rar or .zip and it will extract just fine.
